Moonstruck

okay, sure, maybe this is the fifth time i've watched moonstruck this year. but THIS time i watched it with the 1998 commentary track with norman jewison, john patrick shanley and cher. some fantastic things i learned: - in the scene where loretta is telling her dad she's getting married, they used real champagne and cher was drunk by the end of the scene. - the actor who played old man would carry around liver for all the dogs he had to work with - cher told the studio, who wanted to cast someone else for ronny, that she wouldn't do the movie with anyone else but nicolas cage. - the actors who played cosmo and rita were great cooks and made a lot of the food they ate in the movie - the super bright light they used for the moon would make birds think the sun was coming up, so they'd all start cheeping and chirping - norman jewison does a great sean connery impression.
