Dune
Rewatching a film with subtitles is a must. You pick up so many things you missed and it enhances the experience tenfold. I remember seeing this in IMAX but a lot of the dialogue was lost on me at the time due to not knowing the lore and being so engrossed by the cinematic experience that the dialogue just came secondary.
The depth and substance of the lore is incredible (frankly it might be the best ever fiction in terms of world building, maybe The Lord of the Rings is slightly better idk) and its no wonder so many sci-fi films bounce off this film’s source material. Villeneuve absolutely respects the material too as well as Hans Zimmer. Timothee Charlatan-chakalaka delivers a great performance as does the entire cast.
How people find this film boring is so lost on me. Its an easy 5 stars. Phenomenal and can’t wait to see Part 2.
