Squid Game
SEASON 2 REVIEW:
Holy motherfucking shit. When I heard season 2 was releasing at the end of 2024, I thought “this doesn’t need a sequel season, this is just a cash grab.” And I was half right. This probably was a cash grab BUT it was so fucking incredible.
Obsessed with the concept of In-Ho following Gi-Hun around and telling him moral philosophies to try and get Gi-Hun to say that people are inherently bad kept me on the edge of my seat the WHOLE TIME. He’s like “do you really believe that these people will attack us because they believe in violence to achieve their goals” and that EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS LIKE GI-HUN SAID AHHHHHH.
I fell in love with more characters this time around, I loved that there was more focus on each individual supporting character and that they had deep complex personalities. A great example is Hyun-Ju, who switches sides on O and X throughout the season. She’s so human, because as much as we’d like to think we’d all push the X button every time, some of us realistically won’t. I hope Hyun-Ju’s characters plays a prominent role again next season and I sincerely hope she opens the door for the trans women of South Korea.
Eagerly awaiting the next season, Hwang Dong-hyeok.
(Also, positively thRILLED that my husband Jun-Ho survived)
