Wicked

My only, and I mean THE ONLY complaint I have is that some songs were broken up too much.  Other than that… OBSESSED. This movie is long but it doesn’t stretch out or drag. The time is spent well and not ONCE did I look at my watch to see how much time was left. Cynthia Erivo balances both the comedic cynic and the hopeful youth sides of Elphaba, showcasing such a complex and deep character.  Ariana Grande made so many different choices to make Glinda her own. She did the homework, she gave her all, she deviated so much time and work into the role and it showed. There was an element of Broadway magic that came through at all the right moments. Obviously this is a film so you need to acknowledge that this is a different medium, but there were still the classic Broadway moments that gave me chills. Well done💚🩷
