Blindspotting

this was FANTASTIC! how tf have i never seen this film? the friendship aspect was just spot on where they had a brilliant balance of that buddy comedy that tackles social issues. and don’t get me started on that end rap scene. the rapping plays such a significant part in the development of the film and the themes especially. it’s through rapping that collin expresses what has been taken away from him. that scene was tense yes, but he reclaimed his voice which doesn’t exist while facing the system. idk i watched it as a musical theatre performance with the raps as soliloquy’s which was brilliant and delved into what collin was really thinking and what parts of his past he wanted change. this was brilliant!!
