Rizzoli & Isles
A very smart, funny and cozy spin-off of the Tess Gerritsen novels. It is clear from the start that its only loosely based on those books, and it turns out to be a good choice here. Both main characters are lovable and the series overall is very comforting. Is the plot sometimes a bit thin? Yes. Is there a lot of character development? No. Do the episodes become more and more of the same in the later seasons? Yes. But all that doesnt matter because it gives you exactly that: snugglyness, predictability and also some crime solving on the way.
It could have been more feministic, with the two main characters being female in a man-dominated field of work, but on the other hand I quite liked that the show portrayed that this is how the world should be: they are just a detective and a medical examiner doing their job, and one's gender doesnt necessarily mean someone is "better" or "worse" at some job.
Finally, if youve read this far: definitely read the books!! They are very very good. And of course, RIP Lee Thompson Young
