Sinners is soulful in it's horror, and has a rhythm to its sorrow. It's beautifully shot and it's delicately holding onto something pure.
Hailee Steinfeld and Michael B Jordan together feel magic and even though their story is doomed, theres an implication to it that feels lived in in the right ways.
And of course, the music transports everyone involved, and is what this film is all about.
This film is effective in every single way it wants to be.
