Thief
Thief is an absolute masterpiece, this is such a stunning film every scene shines in its own beauty and Michael Mann is just absolutely incredible with that camera adding so much more detail and immersion to each scene it’s just brilliant.
The narrative and plot is where this film truly shines it’s such a great story and beautiful aswell a man wanting peace in his life doesn’t one more heist and realises he needs to sacrifice everything so he can get his way out the ending is so power and you start to realise how powerful is when you think back to earlier moments in this films.
The sound design and soundtrack add so much tension to this film especially when your at they big action moments you can help but just anticipate what’s going to happen throughout.
I love the more basic stuff this film does with building story through basic human life as we see Frank building his own human life realising nothing he has is his but he treats it as his peace and that’s everything he wants in life it’s so unique and emotional.
James Caan gives such a deep and engaging performance which adds so much depth to the film and makes you more focused and interested in the story.
Thief is incredible and I’ll definitely need to rewatch Heat and see if it’s better on rewatch
