Amadeus
A brilliant film, with a brilliant rivalry. Mozart was gifted by God, while Salieri is mediocre (I don’t think so of course). As the protagonist, Salieri sees Amadeus as a divine jester, a genius who effortlessly achieves greatness. However, as the story unfolds, we see that his perception is distorted by his pain and jealousy. I did not like Wolfgang, but I did like his wife, who reminded me of Elena "Gala" Diakonova (Salvador Dalí's wife), as she controlled him in the same way. Salieri may have been behind Mozart, but when he premiered his opera in Vienna, I was overwhelmed. F. Murray Abraham portrayed two forces beautifully: envy and the desire to surpass God and his protege.
P.S. My whole family said I look exactly like Murray Abraham AKA Salieri whenever I get jealous of someone, well ok.
