Dune
I think the highest compliment you can pay a sci-fi film is leaving the movie with a deep curiosity for its world, characters, and lore. After rewatching Dune Part 1, I found myself so intrigued by its world - the houses outside of Atreidis and Harkonnen, the schemes and plans of the Bene Gesserit, and the history of House Atreidis (especially Paul's warmongering grandfather).
Dune reminds me of all the best parts of early-season-GOT: captivating world-building (which avoids overly expository dialogue), interspersed with bursts of suspense and violence.
