I pre ordered the 40th anniversary 4K box set, then It was delayed and it wasn’t even supposed to come today. And today is also back to the future day. It was my density. Kinda forgot Spielberg was involved in this. I haven’t seen the whole trilogy in at LEAST 5 years or maybe more. Mainly because I didn’t log it on Letterboxd lol. So I forgot some things. That’s why my review is so long. Like I completely forgot that huey Lewis was the judge. Actually I didn’t know for the longest time. They really played the hell out of power of love lmao. Would’ve been awkward if the song wasn’t a hit. Or the movie because it was already alluding to a sequel. Honestly impressive Makeup and prosthetics for the time. Like it looks great actually. Doc just dealing with Libyan terrorists. Oh so that’s why he says Ronald Reagan the actor. It’s playing in the theater in 1955 when Marty shows up. This movie is a lot funnier than I remember. So why did George not have glasses in the future? I guess contacts were a thing. Or the trope of glasses=loser nerd. It’s the 80s so I’m not surprised. And the movie atomic kid is playing in theaters when he gos back to the future. It’s nice little things that I enjoy. Oh and that’s probably why doc says who’s the next president? Mickey Rooney? Because he’s in the atomic kid. I may talk too much but oh well I guess. Looks great in 4K and the special effects looks good also. Old but new. Kinda love all the plot holes for once. Like this might be the only movie where I’m fine with. Also rip Drew Struzan. One of the most iconic posters. Ok last thing i realized is like that the 2020s don’t have any movies to represent the culture. Well American culture for that matter. I mean we’re halfway through the decade and still nothing even close to this. Blame Covid? or something else? Idk it’s just kinda sad. Ok Ok Ok I swear one last thing. The 4K disk had special features??? That’s like kinda crazy. So are the deleted scenes in 4K? Ok that’s it now
