Since it’s raining out, I thought this would be a good time to finally watch this. So I pre ordered the 4K steelbook in October and then got it in December. Don’t know why i took so long to watch it. There’s so many “special features”. I feel if I watched the commentary with David Fincher, Morgan, Freeman, and Brad Pitt I’ll write a lot. Well more pointless yapping but same difference. Basically what’s gonna happen is that I’m just gonna repeat a lot of things that they say during the commentary in this review, instead of the actual movie. I’m a bit concerned cause there was a bunch of controversy/backlash with the 4K and how it all kind of ruined the look of the movie. So I’m a bit hesitant. THE GLUTTONY DEAD GUY IS A REAL GUY??? Wow. I don’t know why I never thought about that. I love the switch from Morgan Freeman and him being very intellectual and thought provoking. And then Brad Pitt and David Fincher kinda joking around a, but also still looking more into the filmmaking part. I feel like it’s just two friends talking. I’m pretty sure David Fincher and Brad Pitt were together and then Morgan Freeman was recorded separately by himself. I mean it’s so interesting about commentaries cause you learned so many things you would’ve never known. Like the basically two seconds of the janitor scrapping of Summerset’s name on the door, and David Fincher talks about that and it’s like a whole story he tells. I like how Fincher still criticizes certain shots. Oh so that’s why it looks so different every time. They color corrected it completely new every time. Lmao. Who thought it was a good idea to market this movie to the screen test audience by advertising Brad Pitt from legends of the fall and Morgan Freeman from driving miss daisy. Definitely does not go with the tone of the movie lol. When was this recorded? Brad Pitt doesn’t sound old so I’m guessing in the last 20 years. Never mind it says 2000. So I was off by 5 years. Color wise it does look kind of weird ngl. I’m used to the very blue color. Now it’s kinda gone and doesn’t look good in my opinion. I feel like movies don’t run out of money anymore. They just get huge budgets and never run out. Mexican blanks. Jesus Christ, 6 minutes of copy write laws in all languages. Thankfully the original ending didn’t happen. Now I’m just waiting for the fight club 4K remaster and steelbook
