The Dark Knight
I’ve seen this movie too many times. I started it yesterday because it was its 17th anniversary. So I thought I’d finish it today. I’ll watch in theaters for its 20th anniversary. Or 25th if they release it. I missed it the last time. Kinda jealous that my parents got to see it in theaters. But it was a different version because a lot of people complained that it was too dark so they did I think brightened up a little bit. But that doesn’t matter. Chris Nolan liked heat so much that he basically made his own version of heat with Batman. It’s so jarring to see Heath ledger like this. Like his voice sounds absolutely nothing like his normal voice. I think that’s what it is. And obviously the make up. The only time that I do recognize him is when during the interrogation scene he’s holding him up to the lights and the cameras looking down on him and he’s telling him the location of Harvey. That’s literally the only time I recognize him. Probably because most of his makeup is rubbed off. Talk about screen presence. Every time with the hanging bat. I don’t know why keep forgetting about it. Can’t believe Katie Holmes wanted to “pursue other roles” and made mad money (which critics didn’t like and flopped), AND she doesn’t regret that. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Imagine being in Batman begins and possibly could’ve been in the dark Knight, but you’re in Jack and Jill. I mean it’s just crazy to me. I mean, Maggie Gyllenhaal really hasn’t had a career also after this. But then again she was the weakest part. Partly because it’s not Katie Holmes ngl. Whatever. Although the little detail of how when Joker tries to get up after the semi flips that he shoots off a couple of rounds. I know an acting it’s always supposed to be a collaboration and not a competition. But the interrogation scene is a great instance of one. It should be a competition because it makes the scene 10 times more better. You can tell when it’s competing vs collaborating. Like the big scene between Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson if you good men, there is example of collaborating. You can tell. I’m just yapping now. I think I understand Harvey dent not noticing joker with the mask now. He just barely woke up so he’s probably on pain meds. OK the last thing I noticed. Joker had his thumb on the hammer of the revolver, so whether he pulled the trigger or not it wouldn’t have moved. Also, why is the mayor wearing eyeliner mascara? Maybe he just looks like that. One day I’ll just write a two sentence review for this movie
