Chainsaw Man
Rewatched for funsies and my GOD did I forget just how perfect this anime is. The art-style (a bajillion bonus points in this regard to each episodes individualized outro), the character development, the fight scenes, the underlying conversation of dreams—is there truly more value to one person’s aspirations in comparison to another’s? Is it even fair/morally ethical to compare them?? Does one need a definitive goal in life to live a fulfilling existence? And also all the movie references!!! We get Pulp Fiction, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Big Lebowski, Resevoir Dogs, Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, just to name a few.
I just love everything about Chainsaw Man. You can feel how seriously Tatsuki takes storytelling and it translates so beautifully in this series. If you EVER see someone calling it a “gooner anime,” just know in your heart that they genuinely have the media literacy skills of a daffodil.
