“Control, it's all about control. Every dictatorship has one obsession and that's it. In ancient Rome they gave the people bread and circuses. They kept population busy with entertainment but other dictatorships used other strategies to control ideas, the knowledge... how do they do that? Lower education, they limit culture, censor information, they censor any means of individual expression and is important to remember this, that this is a pattern, that repeats itself through out history.”
Jake is such a powerful actor every time I see myself thinking after a philosophical movie. It’s usually Jake Gyllenhaal in the center of it.
In this film, he has a doppelgänger a person that looks just like him. Who’s an actor while we follow the teacher in a starting point one has a pregnant wife. The other one has a tumultuous girlfriend and they have completely different personalities. It makes it interesting is the more the movie goes on the more you start to question everything around your characters. Reality there is conversations through his mother having commentary about how messed up his life is that he’s trying to still be an actor you show to see that they’re not all fingers at all. They’re the same person a man who’s fighting between being loyal and being a demon with his infidelity succubus for her to step out on his pregnant wife to find the key to us seeing the sex games in beginning to the end there’s all sorts of different distinguished dialogues. I love it. This movie makes me really scratch and think about all of that and how I missed several things with the wife’s cadence of when she looks at a teacher or talks to her husband or just how she’ll say little things and say that oh he’s he switched again a wife that just wants her husband is staying home with her and be with her not a man who’s searching for more this movie is so fucking good I completely didn’t see the underlining of the spiders and the ending. Holy fuck if I could watch out ending 15 times over to just really feel what am I looking at? What am I understanding? I watched it with my mom incredible I’m gonna be thinking about this film for a long time easily became one of my favorite. Jake Gyllenhaal saves the king of obscure head, scratching cathartic, feeling dark philosophical movies about the psychological idea of the mind and our mental state and the personas we put on and distinguishing of reality and how we transpired in the world of relationships.
