Holes

i’d been craving a rewatch of this movie recently and then i stumbled upon a few clips from sigourney weaver’s 1986 snl episode and knew it had to be done asap, so here are my good and bad takeaways: good: this movie really holds up in adulthood! great cast, talented child actors, visually pleasing execution. this movie came out the year i read it in third grade so my whole class got to take a field trip to see it in theaters which was special. love that kissin’ kate barlow was a strong female character who entered my life at that time because she’s a fucking badass.  bad: this movie made me crave onions in a way no one ever should. i’m talking an unhealthy, ungodly amount. after i saw it as a kid, i literally laid in my parents’ garden and ate the onions like apples until i threw up—do not try that at home, kids. other than that, no notes.
