Nope
I know this move got mixed reviews and is so far Jordan Peele’s least favored film out of the three but I honestly really enjoyed this film. Of course it’s not without its faults like the director being included very late into the story and really bringing nothing to the table with the twist of fate conclusion. However other than that, I thought the pacing and overall fear factor was very powerful. Daniel Kaluuya was such a freaking cool character. So stoic yet realistic. The rest of the limited supporting cast was good but he and Steven Yeun killed it in their roles. The Gordy/Jupe flashback scenes were terrifying and executed incredibly well, namely the scene where we see present day Jupe completely zoned out reminiscing his survival. Although the Gordy side story was my favorite, I love how it connected with the main theme of man vs animal. The main heroes and Jupe want to control the animal for profit. Whether it be to support their amusement park audience numbers or making money selling photos, human selfishness outweighed eliminating a threat. In the end, Jupe and his fellow onlookers met an absolutely horrible demise and encapsulated the threat that was “Jean Jacket.”
The movie had some minor issues but I believe the pros heavily outweighed the cons and it was an extremely enjoyable movie.
