I don’t know what to say. Spike Jonze is a genius. The way he masterfully crafts this heart-renching story is amazing. This film has such a pleasing futuristic setting filled with relatable characters. Characters with a calming presence, characters who feel regret, characters who feel alone. Spike Jonze creates this amazing world and amazing story filled with ups and downs. The entire runtime feels like this emotion cycle. It all seems good at first and then gets downhill. Then you need time to think and eventually the one you love disappears and life comes back the way it eventually was. The way this story is crafted, a story of an unusual relationship, seems so connecting and realistic which makes this film truly special. If times are rough I think you should watch this. This film feels like something that would say “everything is ok,” and then it would just hug you.
