A phenomenal voice has now broken through into mainstream horror. Curry Barker takes this fairly simple premise and crafts an awkward, uncomfortable viewing experience. This is next-level frightening - a by-product of Inde Navarrette’s sensational performance. The sudden switch she’s able to pull off is astonishing. Whether that be through subtle cracks, her vacant gaze or the uncovering of her loving facade. And the way Barker consistently obscures her in the shadows, it’s as if the two have been collaborating on this scale for years.
