oh boy, this will be a long review indeed. but it’ll be worth it.  i am from slovakia and my parents and their parents were part of czechoslovakia. i have never really been proud of my country because i felt like we haven’t done enough to deserve respect or admiration, because of the low recognition. when i found out (from a tiktok edit) that a movie starring my favorite actor, cillian murphy, in which he says ‘I am Jozef Gabčík from Slovakia’ you knew i was interested and today i have finally watched this. and it was a beautiful experience which left me in a catharsis up to this moment as i’m writing this. i can’t be more happy and proud of this movie actually existing, with a beautiful, wonderful cast so it can bring more recognition to my nation because of all the fans around the world. today i have learnt to value the history of slovakia and czechoslovakia and i couldn’t be more grateful. this is truly an indescribable feeling and i can’t really explain it but i am tearing up because i am so honored. please, go watch this movie. not because of cillian or jamie, but because of jozef gabčík and jan kubiš and all the other mentioned names. for our nation that we are proud of.
