holy shit i can’t write anything right now. the words aren’t forming. this is the best movie of 2025 right there (i haven’t seen marty supreme yet though…) and i can’t believe i had the privilege to see this piece of art with my own simple eyes.
i was told to be prepared, but i clearly didn’t brace myself enough, the amount of drama in this film and just the deep heavy emotion mixed with a beautifully written script with breathtaking performances (give Jessie Buckley that Oscar!) and the heartbreaking score got me sobbing in the theatre, feeling goosebumps all over my body.
everything was perfect about this, and i don’t even think i need to elaborate any further. if you haven’t seen this in theaters yet, i sincerely hope this has convinced you, and if you have seen it, i sincerely hope you’re okay. and you know what i’m talking about.
a few afterward thoughts (and prayers):
i went to see this with my two very good lovely friends timeika & evietoris and there was a moment i’ll never forget. during the very last seconds of the movie, we all noticed we started crying, and throughout the end credits we were just curled up against each other, holding hands, the tears streaming down our faces, and you would be able to just hear our quiet sobs and sniffles if you were there. it felt like such a lovely, intimate moment — pure girlhood, and that was most definitely an unforgettable highlight.
second of all, Paul Mescal was absolutely robbed of that Supporting Actor nomination. give my boy his damn Oscar. the child actors were phenomenal and they should be rewarded as well!
and my Joe Alwyn obsession is making a comeback! i love him so much he’s such a human. definitely seeing this again next week.
