WALL·E
Had to rewatch after seeing Hello, Dolly! now that know where the “Out there. There’s a world outside of Yonkers” song comes from. Anyway, this is more of a review about Hello, Dolly! and how it enhances Wall-E.
Even though only a month or two has passed since the last time I watched this movie it becomes more and more nostalgic as I get older. Wall-E himself becomes more relatable the more you watch, read, and experience, for he’s a young souls in an old body that just wants so bad to be with what was. I yearn for the same beautiful architecture and bright atmosphere of the 1900s in Hello, Dolly! the same way as Wall-E, making me root and cry even harder for him by the end of this film. This movie-like Wall-E- is an old soul in a young body that only gets better as time goes on. I’m excited to watch this again in a few months when it has an entirely new meaning.
Favorite quote from Hello, Dolly!: “[money] is like manure. It’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around, encouraging young things to grow.”
