“Like, have you heard of ‘The Rapture’?” “…The Siouxsie and the Banshees album?” accidentally watched while wearing a siouxsie sioux shirt. it’s a sign that i am deeply connected to this film. thank you gregg araki for making this specifically for me 8 years before i was born and im sorry it took me so long to watch. i love you i was so so so excited to watch this, i knew i was gonna love it. i think it’s my favorite araki movie now, everything about it is so perfect. the visuals are amazing. the saturation, the set design, the fashion, the character designs in general, all of them. every single character was so fucking cool looking. and the crazy part is that might be the least interesting thing about it because the actual chaotic story itself is just insane. it makes sense like. 50% of the time. maybe less. it’s so bizarre!! i love the corny script too. i always do. i love how hedonistic and stylish and gay every gregg araki character is. especially the badass girls, i wish so much that i was one of them. and i wish the entire world was created by araki. also how many times does james duval get cucked in these movies hahah poor guy ofc love all the happy vibes but my baby Egg’s story put me in a really dark place. she’s so sweet i’m so fucking depressed. out of everyone she deserved the best ending. :( i will be thinking of you all the time queen i feel like i have way more to say but i’ll leave it at that. teenage apocalypse trilogy complete!! (sadly. i was having a really good time) but still excited to watch Smiley Face :)
