THE BACKROOMS IS A HELLSCAPE LIKE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.
It may sound obvious to say but this movie is everything you love about Kane Pixels but amped up to 100% with the power of A24 behind him.
An aesthetically beautiful celebration of all things liminal and a tense, grotesque and eerie piece of horror.
The film builds upon the groundwork of Kanes YouTube series, and gives us a deeper understanding of the Backrooms and pushes it to a level unlike we've ever seen.
The acting, music, pacing, cinematography & everything is absolutely top notch. Although, I would have liked to have cared a bit more for the characters but thats more so a me thing and I don't feel like its necessarily the point. Also, without a doubt the Backrooms is used as an analogy for AI and it's attempts at recreating human made things.
It's amazing seeing something so ingrained in internet culture get put in the limelight like this. I can't wait for the sequel.
