*ALMOST 100 YEARS LATER...METROPOLIS STILL HAS A LOT TO SAY.* What an insane movie this was. It tells a story of how machines can misguide if followed. Of how social division will only sow chaos. Of how, despite it all, the heart can win. Metropolis is a beautiful film that as if 2027 will be 100 years old and I truly don't know if we could make anything like it today. Metropolis is a raygun gothic treat for the eyes with giant sets so intricately designed you'd truly think you were in the heart of a city. The films narrative was shockingly sharp also, it does a pretty good job focusing though there were times I found myself a bit distracted and with a headache forming but this is a movie we simply can't make today. We dont have it in us and I encourage all to watch it! Also, lowkey there was more romantic tension between Freder and Josephat then Freder and Maria and I do wish I could become more invested in the relationship between them but perhaps it is unfair of me to expect so from a silent film but their love felt somewhat forced. > The mediator between the mind and the hand, is the heart. > Where are they?! Where are your mothers and fathers! > Where is my son?! > > Tomorrow, thousands will ask in fury and desperation: Joh Fredersen, where is my son!

**THE SOUL VS THE MACHINE** Ghost in The Shell is an odd one. Beautiful and aesthetically great and I find all the characters very likeable despite knowing so little about the. I feel as if this is a film to be watched multiple times to fully grasp. It always felt like I was truly just a spectator unable to predict or truly tell what Major is feeling or planning fully. Nonetheless, the film has aged extremely well and is a great display of the debate of what separates AI and life. Wires and veins. DNA and programming. But in the end, Puppet Master got what they wanted. New life. Reproduction. The gap between the two has been bridged for what is life without the risk of true death. > *But now we must slip our bonds and shift to the higher structure.* > *What would be the importance of being human?*

***CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.*** What a damn movie this was. Easily the horror movie of the year. Such a great display of horror in the sense of the whole concept is scary. No monster needed. I could spend time debating the moral questions this film presents because there's a lot of reading between the lines to be done here but all in all I feel awful for Nikki. I wish I had more to digest or say but I can't without spoiling things and honestly there's very little to critique as everything this film sets out to do it does perfectly and it really goes to show a big budget isn't needed to make an incredible movie. This. Backrooms. Iron Lung. This has been a revolutionary year for horror and I am very eager to see how Hollywood misinterpret the success and just keep making slop. > I'm your freaky Nikki. > Do you want to talk to her? > What's so bad about being with me?

**MEH OR MIGHTY?** Well...this one is as bad as people say. To make this all quick it's a big let down to see how the nuanced relationships shown in prior MCU films and the character driven focus seems to slip away for this movie. Thor's development feels very forced and beyond him just losing his powers and home there isn't anything that really shows why he changes. Jane is reduced to a swooning school girl who is head over heels for Thor despite the fact they barely even bond besides one scene and they can't stop tilting this damn camera, giving me a headache. Tom Hiddleston does a great job as Loki and Chris is fun to watch as Thor and I understand the importance of this movie as it really opens up the scale this universe was chasing and shows they won't just be grounded all the time. This movie could have done with a shorter intro and having Thor's time on earth be longer, have him be there for like a year, learning how to lead a humble life with humble people. Perhaps he and Jane get engaged and then he is forced to return to Asgard and the movie can go on as it does. The destruction of the rainbow bridge would have been more meaningful in this scenario knowing he can't get back to his soon to be wife's world and he can't even tell her why. Also, the costumes in this movie are tacky as hell. > Son of Coul
