Kurosawa took about two years to complete RAN, facing not only total blindness, and he managed to create one of the most visually extradinary films of his illustrious career. RAN is many things. A tale of cowards. Of snakes and birds. Of cycles and unlearned lessons. Of bitterness and ambition. If you are yet to watch this piece of Samurai Cinema then do yourself the pleasure of watching as this is a truly fantastic movie and a cinematic experience I am unlikely to forget.
