Sunshine

I’m floored. Somehow, this sci-fi drama thriller slipped past me until I randomly saw the title on a YouTube video. I thought I would check it out given the incredible visuals from 2007. This exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Twists and turns that work. Interesting characters that you enjoy watching. Even some horror aspects that creatively work as well. Two things absolutely blew me away from this film. First the visuals. This movie looks like it was made just recently not from 2007!! The epic size of the sun is truly showcased here. Second the sound design and score. It truly has a beautiful and creative tone. The ending in particular is what really sold everything. I was breathless the entire third act. I about cried at the end as well. 10/10 - the most incredible overlooked sci-fi film in the past 2 decades.
