For a super low budget found footage feature it has its moments. I actually liked the characters for the most part.
The climax takes things from kinda creepy to full blown insane but it kinda ruins it like 30 seconds later when the acting and pacing don’t really reflect the chaos of what is supposed to be an insanely big moment.
I actually liked the finale though where she gets taken out to the woods and buried alive by the cult people only for her boyfriend to show up with a gun, take a cult member hostage, and force them to unbury her. I thought that was awesome since most movies would end it after the burial. But then the movie kind of kills what would have been an awesome ending by (it’s not very well edited so it’s hard to understand what specifically happens) killing both the lead characters in a car crash?? And also maybe the boyfriend was in on it? Then why rescue her?
It’s confusing and doesn’t really make any sense.
For what is clearly a first feature film by this guy it’s not horrible. I’d be curious to see what he could do with a much bigger budget and crew.
