Beyond Evil
woahhh u can log shows on letterboxd??
this was really good and it hit the same eerie thriller love story vibe that shows like hannibal and killing eve had. my main problem with the show was kinda how the mystery was revealed to the audience, which is more of a complaint of the genre itself. i liked the first 1/4 as it gave you snippets of what happened which was fun as it could implicate anyone (namely dongsik). i really liked how even from the beginning we knew that there was more than one "evil" and it was just a matter of figuring out exactly where everyone fit in/ their role in the murders. i liked that presentation a lot. once the whole reveal of kihwan being the snowball that tumbled down to the avalanche, the show honestly slowed down and became a little stale, but drew the attention back by focusing on the characters rather than the mystery.
fhe dynamic between the two central characters is definitely the highlight. that rain scene was craaaaaazyyy holyy 😳😳😳 the constant pushing and pulling they had was super fun to watch. jeongje and jaeyi were two other pretty well handled characters as well, though i did think it was weird jaeyi stuck around at manyang butcher after the case's resolution.
overall a great kdrama which i usually dont go for.
