This rewatch completely changed the way I see this movie. The first time around, I somehow missed the fact that Davis really did miss his wife - he’d just gotten so good at convincing himself he didn’t. Watching it again, all those little moments hit so much harder once you realize his grief never actually disappeared. I’ve never seen someone have so much beef with a vending machine over a pack of M&M’s. The vending machine really picked the wrong person to mess with. “Sometimes we can’t tell the truth because the truth frightens us.”
