Hamnet

I only watched this because of the Oscars but holy shit this was absolutely incredible.  First of all I just want to say this is possibly the best child acting in a film like what the fuck the kids were actually convincing. But it’s not just the kids that were incredible as jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal were absolutely incredible throughout the whole film. I was loving Paul’s slow clear speaking that felt like this was made by Shakespeare himself. But at the end when we got onto that stage and saw Noah Jupe play Hamlet on the stage I genuinely was mesmerised by his performance.  That leads me onto my next reason this film is incredible. My favourite scene in this was easily the theatre scene at the very end. Everything in this was so beautiful; seeing her finally happy after such a brutal time she has had from the death of Hamlet, and then when Hamlet dies, again, just seeing everyone putting there arms out for him was beautiful.  Another one of my favourite things in this film was the music. What a score. It was absolutely beautiful. Now I don’t know the song names right now as I have only just watched it but on my rewatch I will check. But the first song that plays in the credits and also at the very end was a beautiful sound. Camera work was very nice. I liked their use of wide shots in various scenes.  Also thought it was perfect that the two Hamlets are brothers. This is a very surprising love for me but yes everyone watch this film. You need to watch this even if you’re not interested because I wasn’t and I loved it.
