Saw II
Wow, this is an amazing sequel. I liked it a lot better on a rewatch! It's a bigger and bloodier sequel! I love seeing more of Jigsaw, and the film is a lot better written than the first one, with some surprisingly smart twists and turns. While the first one had an extremely well-thought-out plot, the final product wasn't as well thought out. This film has an extremely well-thought-out plot, and the film itself, in other aspects, is extremely well-thought-out too, giving it an edge over its predecessor. From the opening, it establishes that it will have some amazing traps, and it delivers, especially with the nail-bitingly horrific needle pit. The twist at the end is also amazing! The editing and lighting are still bad like the first one, but I consider it the series's style rather than it being bad. The editing and lighting are extremely "Saw," and I mean that in the baddest good way possible. I just love the premise and how the sequel is just so well executed. Overall, this is a perfect sequel that is just as creative as the original. It's too bad the sequels never get to the level of the first two from my memory, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
