Weapons
Sososo important. Its allegory against gun violence is hidden and also embedded in every scene of the movie.
The message is not completely radical, literal weapons are used in the climax by Justine to protect herself. But the way fingers are pointed at Justine and not at anyone else is crucial to note.
Theme aside, this movie was terrifying. The music, visuals and perspectives all made it satisfyingly horrible.
A bit disappointed that James didn’t survive. And also that the kids were permanently affected as well as Alex’s parents but I suppose that’s for trauma reasons, it fits. Sue me I like an actually happy ending
