The Shining

im just gonna list stuff that was good about it and quotesthat I took notes on it while watching "Your the caretaker, you've always been the caretaker" The modern look of the bathroom How Kubrick makes you feel like you are in the room with the characters How characters respond to things a little late to make you feel uneasy and create an awkward silence How Grady doesn't remember how he was the caretaker because he blew his brains out and that is how you remember stuff Its good because Kubrick had similar traits to Jack during production The last 45 minutes in general The imagry of the blood leaving the elevator resembling evil and the people that have died in the hotel being let out as Jack looses his mind Lighting and staging in the redrum scene SHELLY DUVALL The suspence of the last 45 minutes "All work no play makes Jack a dull boy The long moving shot cutting back and forth between Jack and Wendy on the stairs then the ots shot over Wendy The shots in the snow are some of the best looking shots put to film "I and others have come to a belief, that your heart is not in this. That you don't have the belly for it" Grady's dialoge in general Is still intense even after watching it many, many times The lighting in the maze looks incredible
