Every single element of the film, the cinematography, the performances, the mise en scene, just come together so perfectly to create a genuinely scary hut brilliant film. The gore is used so perfectly - it actually SHOCKS you, unlike many tasteless horror films these days. Midsommar, as well as hereditary before it, is truly something special.
