despite people’s qualms, i really loved this movie. julia roberts was absolutely stunning, richard gere’s character, although an asshole was quite enjoyable. would 100% watch again.

i- ????? i don’t really know how to feel abt this movie. it was all over the place, jules is definitely morally corrupt. michael- i had fully convinced myself he was in love with jules but maybe that’s what i was supposed to believe. i find it really hard to sympathize with any of these characters. not the outcome i was expecting but i guess it beats the ladder. i will say tho julia roberts was absolutely brilliant and really captures the anxiety around dropping a big bomb with bigger consequences. i could see it from her physicality and even her breathing. i hope i never have to see this movie again.

honestly, a very good horror movie. had me spooked a couple times. not my usual type, more of a slasher fan but this had many jump scares AND adam brody even if he was on in there for one scene.

DAN SNORING IS SO ANNOYING LIKE I MIGHT NOT FINISH THIS MOVIE BC HES SNORING SO LOUD.  i’ve also had a very hard time finishing movies through & through. my attention span is slipping bc i like mind numbing television now like jersey shore fv.  okay. he’s turned it off which is fine cuz i gotta poop. maybe i’ll finish it another day.

<p>ok. for starters, i am so beyond excited for everything coming austin butler’s way after this movie. i grew up watching this man in small roles on disney and nickelodeon so of course i had to go see his career defining portrayal of elvis. i think he did a phenomenal job &amp; it’s absolutely crazy denzel washington recommended him to baz in the first place. <br>as someone who knows the bare minimum abt elvis, i thought the movie was good! it was fun, it was aesthetically very gorgeous, made me feel really sorry for elvis bc regardless of how controversial he was in today’s standards, nobody should be taken advantage of in the way the colonel did to him. i enjoyed the movie though. <br>however, the movie does have flaws, as do many. there were times when i just wanted the movie to end maybe because i was suffering from a very small bladder conundrum. that was quite humbling. a lot happened but also felt like nothing happened. the first time i got up to pee i remember thinking it was a good time to go but it was not. elvis was being sent to the army then boom his mother dies. there really is no perfect time to pee. some shots didn’t match with the voices speaking. an actor would be speaking but their lips wouldn’t be movie and it’s only really noticeable if you’re looking at the characters directly but these shots were not meant to have the characters as the focal points. i’m just looking at everything when i watch a scene.&nbsp;<br>every qualm i have with this movie has more so to do with the production of it. not the acting. tom hanks was menacing and cold as the colonel and austin butler shines beyond any star as elvis. <br>if i had to rate it, i’d give it 7.5-8/10. i feel like upon another watch, i could bump the score up to 8 bc i was going in already expecting a lot and was antsy the whole time bc i had no idea what to expect due to my little knowledge of elvis. i also usually go into biopics with no prior knowledge on the subject matter and usually come out obsessed with the subject but i don’t think elvis gave me that feeling because i had the preconceived notion to tread lightly. i can see how much he meant/means to people and i cannot deny the influence he’s had. i will never discredit that.&nbsp;<br>i also never realized how many elvis songs i do know. i was sitting there like ‘oh shit this was elvis’ song??’ bc ik them from other artists’ covers of them.&nbsp;<br>as most biopics, they tried to paint elvis in a light that goes against most people’s feelings of him today. i, again, feel i can’t really add to that convo bc i don’t know anything abt anything related to him.&nbsp;<br>also the colonel gaslit the FUCK outta me. i was sitting there even like ‘did i… did i kill elvis??’ but i wasn’t even born!!!!! my mom was not even 10 when elvis died. at the end the colonel’s talking abt how doctors would say the pills killed elvis or some would argue the colonel killed him but he believes it was love. the love he had for his fans. very chilling.&nbsp;<br>if one thing was proven time &amp; time again, it’s that elvis loved his fans. very much. maybe a lil too much. cannot think of one artist nowadays who’s going around kissing their fans in the audience.&nbsp;<br>ALSO. elvis never toured the world????? i did not know that. well there’s actually so much i didn’t know so everything was kind of a shock.&nbsp;<br>one thing’s for sure tho, priscilla presley’s style was a big. fat. fucking. slay. she was truly the it girl. besides the fact that her and elvis met when she was 14 &amp; he was 24. unfortunately that was not uncommon back then.</p>

LITERALLY SO GOOD. i usually don’t like when movies rely on jumpscares for the scare factor, however, i think it works for this film. the tone in the movie also helps establish the “horror” because ethan hawke is truly menacing as the grabber. literally chilling. creepy. it was amazing. i noticed a lot of influence in there from other horror movies like scream, halloween, silence of the lambs. everyone’s performance was super outstanding. the boy who plays finney was amazing. the girl who played his sister.  at the heart of this movie is something very beautiful and despite the subject matter bc most people don’t feel comfortable abt kids in horror movies (i totally agree), i think this movie exceeds every limitation.  the scene with robin and finney’s last phone call :(( literally broke my heart. and the reunion between finney and gwen :(((. finney was a badass. if anything this movie showed me that i’d be dead in a matter of seconds. i would’ve given up immediately after waking up.  ETHAN HAWKES PERFORMANCE BRO. I LITERALLY CANNOT GET OVER IT. SO. SO. SO. GOOD.  the sound engineering was INCREDIBLE. i really loved this movie. this movie also uses the right amount of humor to break the ice over the scenes.

WITH HERCULES?????? stop it rn.  overall the movie was okay? i think? i loved the humor and the camp to it but that’s taika waititi. i’m intrigued by the place i’m forgetting the name of it but it’s where the gods go after they die in battle. i do think it sets up the fifth film nicely but i don’t know how the kid will play into that. i also was very much sitting there thinking “oh god… should they have stopped after endgame?” like idk. i think it’s also everyone’s opinions affecting my own but i see what people are saying abt how there seems to be no purpose for phase four and while i understand that, i also feel it’s just like phase one. we were being introduced to new characters and that’s what happening, only difference is we’re fizzling out the older ones which is :((( i also thought the guardians will have a bigger part in this? but they didn’t?  also the relationship problems between thor and stormbreaker. very camp. the horror edit whenever thor’s talking abt mjolnir, stormbreaker creeps into the side with creepy music. LMAOOOO.

It also just felt long as shit but I can see why people love it so much and I definitely can see how the movie itself has inspired a generation of film and has shaped cinema to what it is today.

I watched this movie because I did a number generator and I obviously grew up watching this as a kid but I haven’t seen it in years and it definitely holds up to today. Even my dog was really enthralled by what was on the screen he laid on the couch and could not leave his spot.

what’s with cathy bates being an in house nurse in stephen king films??  I like this movie, it’s not something I would watch again but I am enjoying myself so far. Kathy Bates is as always incredible so there’s no questions there.

this movie is actually really sad. Lydia literally wants to die because she hates her life with her parents but then she gets basically captured by Beetlejuice and is forced to almost marry him when she’s literally maybe 14 not even she’s a literal child. In today’s day and age this movie would not fly but obviously it’s become a cult classic because it was very popular back in the day now I don’t really understand the hype around it it’s a star-studded cast but other than that there’s not really anything that’ll keep me wanting to revisit or anything.

i’m a bit confused by this movie, I thought it was a horror movie but nothing is scary about it. There’s also not a lot of dialogue and I don’t think the cinematography is really making up for that. I feel like it doesn’t really know what it wants to be… maybe an allegory on social media and the impacts of everyone claiming to know what’s correct/right or the influence social media has on people’s willingness to do things without fully knowing the truth beforehand…  not her talking abt killing her dad while walking by a police car!!!

what in the shit is this movie. This is my first shutter original and I hate it so far. But this might be like a good thing because I love movies like this that are just awful cheesy horror movies. smoothie clearly has no idea what it wants to be. 30 minutes in and they’re just entering this new subplot about something that happened at the house that they just moved into. It is either wants to be a social commentary on you know people kind of coming into the times and adapting or whatever but also at the same time it’s horrible. OK the twins in the story of the house and how they slit their parents throats and just left them there for weeks is so clearly this unwelcome couple in this home.

The only thing notable about this film is the direction/cinematography, I think there are some really great shots in this film however none of the twists landed for me and the acting towards the final act does fall very short and I’ve already lost interest.

how did she so GRACEFULLY get out of the medicine cabinet?? i really like the way they edit the images that flash onto the screen when our main girl is thinking abt them. this baby is absolutely the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen. there’s a very cosmically tragic love story here & it’s really quite heartbreaking to see.

I actually really liked this movie. Of course it has some details that I would change or had some details that made me raise my eyebrow. However, I think the film does a good job at delivering what we’ve all been desperately wanting from this franchise, which is interesting characters, developed dynamics and character development, and it does it in a pretty OK job for what the franchise has before it.  The character of Teri absolutely drove me up the wall. I thought he was really dumb. I don’t understand why he had a New Jersey accent in the middle of Indiana in Midwest America. They never specified that, his dad didn’t even have an accent when he was on screen I don’t know if that was just the actors choice to do that, but he sounded like Christopher Malta sanity and acted and looked like a Riverdale character which is definitely an insult and I hope it gets taken as that. I also wish we saw more Michael like actual michael and not Cory dressed up as Michael but I did. I didn’t mind it because I think they did a nice job setting up in the beginning that michael‘s been MIA for four years and has occasionally grabbed people into the sewer and has not been this huge entity like roaming around Haddonfield.  all in all I feel people are being way overdramatic about this film because it’s something they’re not used to and it actually poses a bigger question and focuses on other details of the subsequent consequences of Michael’s murderous rampage through Haddonfield.

this movie loses my attention towards the end. gets kinda slow.
