Long loved Joy Division so perhaps a little biased, but is this the best musical biopic? I think it might just be.
Performances are raw and convincing, it's shot beautifully, and the music is, of course, excellent. I really appreciate the attention to detail in the production design and costuming, which immerses us in the '70s. It’s a heavy watch, no doubt about it, but the tone is balanced very well, and its subject matter is handled with respect.
