Perfect Blue
Being able to watch this in theaters was kinda an unreal experience
Such an incredibly high level of competence and precision in color theory here, the color palette is dull and muted, what should be bright is washed out, greens and blues are pastel, yellows and oranges occasionally stick out but still feel very drab, except for the color red. Red is prevalent and almost oppressive in nearly every single scene, its bright and bold and even if its a box, an umbrella, or a lamp its there and it sticks out, its used as a tool to not only further the narrative but also blur the lines between fantasy and reality, just really incredible stuff
