“Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y'all will git me one hundred Nazi scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred dead Nazis. Or you will die tryin'.”💯
favourite performance: Christopher waltzfavourite character: Aldo The Apache favourite scene: “A deal to end the war”favourite aspect: Action and directionA stylistic take on war and monumentally, cinema. It takes a Satyrical approach to the war which made me laugh on multiple accounts. The opening scene was truly phenomenal Every shot was perfect and it had quite a monotonous tone which made Hans lands all the more scary. In all of Quentin Tarantino’s illustrious career, he think “Hans Landa” is one of his best written characters ever to grace the screen. If that’s true Tarantino might be one of the best directors ever. While I still have to watch a lot of his filmography, that is a statement I believe could be proven right. Hans Landa has a terrifying tone. Whenever he was on screen I was always amazed but on the edge of my seat. Christopher Waltz’s performance is truly one of the best ever. He proves why he is regarded as one of the greatest actor of the modern era and possibly ever. He has a certain charm and charisma I can’t put my finger on the makes him so unpredictable. That gives the story a lot of depth and meaning. I was so lost as to what would happen next. That is exactly what I would want from a movie. I can’t wait to see Christopher Waltz in other projects.
Similar to what Samuel L. Jackson said, Quentin Tarantino’s set pieces are grand and immaculate. He is definitely one of the best on the industry. The script is so well written. It takes you on twists and turns that no one could predict. Writing a linguist must be so hard. How the hell did Tarantino write in multiple languages while still writing better than the people from that country. Unbelievable. I’m really loving his and Brad Pitts collaborations. Although this by far my favourite. This is probably my favourite Brad Pitt performance. It’s Oozing with style and charisma. The cast is surprisingly star-studded. Shohanna’s character was so compelling. It really is one of the greatest revenge stories of all of cinema. The way the events take place are all so awe worthy. The cuts are amazing and so admirable. That tells the story almost as well as the acting. The direction was epic and the epitome of masterful. But what would you expect, it’s Tarantino. The opening scene had my nails falling off. It gives me shivers every time (yes I re watched it after). This might be Tarantino’s masterpiece (although I haven’t seen pulp Fiction). The concept is meticulously crafted. The amazing setting and direction execute it perfectly. I really have no nit-picks. It was so entertaining - maybe the most entertaining ever - and the action was truly incredible. The action was stupendous. The pacing was super-eminent. Everything from beginning to end was lily-white perfection. Nothing short of praise-worthy and deserving of its reputation. Also, that end scene, maybe Top 1 of all time.
“You know something, Utivich? I think this just might be my masterpiece.”10All-time favourite A+
