***"let him burn!”*** give me the alternate cut where haddonfield is intercepted by the federal goverment now!!! some absolutely confounding choices on display. i didn't hate this nearly as much as last time but didn't come close to liking it either. post *halloween* 2018, david gordon green just can't hold back from padding scripts with pseudo-intellectualism instead of delivering on, at minimum, making a good slasher or, at maximum, a good movie. green has a genuinely good directorial eye and has great casting in all of his movies especially with the 2-3 scene side characters. i don't know if he needs to fully transition into being a director for hire but the writing is pulling away from the talents he does have.

***"there are two kinds of evil.*** is this movie kind of a mess? yeah but it is more entertaining and isn't a total mess in regards to the themes it's trying to explore. oh and darcy is in it and i love darcy!! honestly i don't have many unique things to say (corey should've been in the 1st, final 10 minutes, etc.) but i like it. i think most of the *halloween* movies are bad and just repeat the same shots/props/scenes/kills over and over. most of my enjoyment does come from that it's different and it echoes the BEST entry, *season of the witch*. and like, why didn't they keep the silver shamrock twist. i don't care if too many people wanted it, it would've been so fucking cool.
