"let him burn!” give me the alternate cut where haddonfield is intercepted by the federal goverment now!!! some absolutely confounding choices on display. i didn't hate this nearly as much as last time but didn't come close to liking it either. post halloween 2018, david gordon green just can't hold back from padding scripts with pseudo-intellectualism instead of delivering on, at minimum, making a good slasher or, at maximum, a good movie. green has a genuinely good directorial eye and has great casting in all of his movies especially with the 2-3 scene side characters. i don't know if he needs to fully transition into being a director for hire but the writing is pulling away from the talents he does have.
