La La Land on acid.
First Gaspar Noe film I’ve ever watched, traumatising.
However, the technicality of the movie transcends anything I’ve ever watched before.
But yeah, I felt sick during some scenes. Especially that dance sequence at the beginning of the film, I really believe that’s one of the greatest things filmed in the 21st Century.
Despite having a much more composed plot, it was more sickening than the Serbian film, purely due to the context of some scenes.
After watching Climax, I can see why Noe is considered one of the most influential directors of the 21st century - his use of lighting and camerawork is complete genius.
