that ending montage will never not make me cry nothing else makes me feel this much. the tears will not stop rolling down my face. THE ENDING SHOWING THE EVOLUTION OF CINEMA FROM THE 1890S TO THE 202OS??? this film is the love of my life, not a person. this is THE movie that made me go from 'i love movies, they're everything to me' to 'i NEED to be a part of this industry and contribute something to it before i die'. damien chazelle gets me better than the whole world combined. also, the use of color and music is INSANE. the fast paced music with red/orange in the beginning- slowly descending to the same song, slowed, with a blue aesthetic. my favorite shot of this is when nellie wakes up after the party, in her red hopeful dress, surrounded by blue walls from her hopeless hometown. DAMIEN CHAZELLE IS A FUCKING GENIUS
