Aftersun
“I just feel a bit down or something. I don’t know. Don’t you ever feel like you’ve just done a whole amazing day, and then you come home and feel tired and down, and it feel like your bones don’t work? They’re just tired and everything is tired. I don’t know. It’s weird.”
I’m not good enough with words to describe what I just saw, but I can say this, Aftersun is one of the very few movies that truly understands emotion. This film is just gorgeous, brilliant, and everything in between. Frankie Corio was phenomenal, but Paul Mescal my goodness. The subtly when it was necessary and the emotion when it was needed was just chefs kiss. Paul needs to stop taking roles that demolish my soul (please keep taking them). This film is fantastic. Just go and see it - or rent it.
