Tampopo

The most hungry I've ever felt from watching a film. Tampopo genuinely has it all. I found the pacing to be near perfect with lots happening whilst not feeling overcrowded/chaotic, The cinematography was beautiful, The acting was superb with the expressionism being top tier especially when tasting food and the overall plot was extremely interesting with Tampopo even incorporating meta/self aware elements that were heavily ahead of its time. I would say although Tampopo isn't the a massively known film it deserves A LOT more praise and this can be backed up by the audience who have seen the film with the average rating sitting at a staggering 4.3/5. I believe Tampopo is both one of the best cooking films ever made and also one of the best Japanese movies ever made. Personally it stands as my all time favourite Japanese film. Tampopo really is a unique blend of culinary and western like no other. Tampopo is a must watch film.
