still a fav sorry ! This is a masterpiece of satire, an instant classic body horror (with probably the most astounding and impressive effects and makeup ever achieved), feminism 101 conveyed in the goriest most french way possible !!!!! j’adore.
even tho the last 30 minutes r admittedly a painful watch, i think the hyperbolic violence pairs with the thematic simplicity and “on the nose” commentary in a way that just works.
coralie is a visionary!!! No one doing it like her.
Also thinking back to when i saw this in theaters, i have NEVER experienced such a collective disgust and nausea. The fact that a movie about the violence of body image elicits such an intense emotional experience from the audience is quite significant…
