“You all do things that are beautiful and magical and... and important. But me... there's gotta be more to my life than just pots and kettles. All I'm asking you is that you give me a chance.” Even after all these years, I still feel deeply attached to this movie. I don’t think i’ve ever related to a character more. Tinkerbell represents all of us who feel like we don’t belong. Constantly told by others who we are and who we should be, often everything that we don’t want to be. She feels like the definition of “this is me trying.” No matter how good your intentions are, it always comes across wrong. No matter how much effort you put in, it feels like you fail at every turn. In the end, instead of looking at the negatives of being a “stupid” tinker fairy, she turned her biggest insecurity into her biggest strength. Moral of the story?
