It's been a while since an ending has left me sitting there still like that.
This was thrilling, hilarious, and just REALLY immersive. The subtle handheld camerawork, the use of overlapping languages in the dialogue, the chaoticness of the script—so much of it felt like events unfolding and a camera just happened to be there to record it rather than a scripted movie. And much of that authenticity is attributed to the performances. Mikey Madison gives this character so much complexity and nuance. The vulnerability, the tragedy, the hopefulness, the hopelessness—it’s all there in this INSANE performance.
