F1
The soundtrack and visuals of the racing with the onboard camera were absolutely stunning in the cinema and ,coupled with the echo of the commentary to make it seem like it was coming from a tannoy, really made it an immersive viewing experience.
I loved cameos from the drivers as well. The montage in the middle was so beautiful and summery. It really did feel like the movie of the summer if it was just that montage.
However, the realism was just not there. Hayes should've got so many penalties and apxgp would've probably been removed from the Constructor's Championship. With the support of Lewis Hamilton, I expected a lot more from the movie in this regard. ALSO WHY WERE THEY RELYING ON SONNY FOR STRATEGY IT FR BOILS MY BLOOD 😭😭
Even worse than this, the plot was a 6/10 at best, relying too much on the shock effect of crashes. Like, sir, there are more ways to create drama in an F1 race than crashing. By the last crash, it was genuinely getting boring. Maybe they could've tried a power unit failing or literally anytjing other than another stupid crash.
Also, the romance between Kate and Sonny was completely unnecessary and I hated the writers for including it. All of their romantic scenes felt like yap thrown into the movie to increase run time. The ending was stupid and should've ended with a scene about the F1 team and not Hayes' and Kate's relationship.
Overall though, it's an enjoyable watch in the cinema (definitely do not recommend it as a home movie) if you can get tickets for cheap. I think 4DX would definitely be worth it.
