Fracture
I went into it expecting it to be some sort of thriller that required a lot of concentration. However, there was a lot of comedic moments. The comedy was well written and did get a few big laughs from me. I thoroughly enjoyed the script.
Along with this, the movie was gripping and I enjoyed the twists, though I am aware that other more insightful people would have figured them out much earlier into the movie. The plot was simple and, honestly, that was what this movie needed; no unnecessary subplot of the detective's marriage breaking apart or anything like that. It managed to keep my attention until the end despite a weak ending.
However, the highlight of the film for me was definitely the film noir aesthetic of the movie. I enjoyed the sets, camera angles and lighting and some of the sets really still stick in my mind.
Overall, an intriguing watch for the average audience with a witty script and great acting from the main cast. Would recommend.
